Abstract:
The purpose of the present study was to extract a pattern of community environment based on the assessment index, Morita’s Community-Environmental Index (MCEI), regarding daily living among the mental disorders from a practical viewpoint of public health nursing. To examine the characteristics of community environment by population scale in municipalities based on the nationwide data, the amount of change of mean deviation with respect to the importance of environmental conditions was represented in a histogram with five bars. Forty-five graphs according to combination for each item of the degree of importance in the environment (DIE) were drawn. The questionnaire consisted of all the graphs was carried out to 20 subjects in order to investigate into a pattern. The quantification method of the fourth type was performed to the data which were converted into the matrix of dissimilarity in order to distinguish patterns as a shape. The change was classified into five patterns based on the population scale on the two-dimensional space in light of daily living among the mental disorders.
