Abstract:
Ideas about future policy regarding urban waterfronts and the best direction for their construction and revitalization were examined. Citizens' evaluations of and levels of satisfaction with an artificial brook irrigated with advanced treated water, which runs through an urban residential area, were obtained and assessed. The results showed that the citizens had a highly positive appreciation of the artificial brook irrigated with advanced treated water and that facilities that had use value in their daily lives were given a particularly high approval rating. However, the majority of people paid little attention to the source of the water or the greenery growing along it. There is a strong need, at present, for public facilities to be constructed that improve the level of satisfaction of the people who will use them and are appreciated by the citizens. This paper clarified the point that waterfront space that is enhanced by plantings, has improved access to the water, has good water quality, conveys a sense of intimacy, is clean and promotes relaxation can play an important role in the improvement of the level of satisfaction experienced by users and citizens. Such features can be achieved by an artificial brook irrigated with advanced treated water, running through an urban residential area.
