Abstract:
In this paper, with the collaboration and cooperation of private businesses, the factors affecting companies? woody biomass utilization behaviors were empirically clarified, using a covariance structure analysis through a questionnaire survey to companies in Maniwa City, Japan, that are successful biomass utilization businesses. There are two groups of factors affecting companies? woody biomass utilization behaviors: those associated with the “cooperative attitudes,” which may be affected by companies? business attitudes or management judgment, and a group of “environmental behaviors,” which are strongly oriented toward social contribution activities. “Regional partnership” is not a direct affecting factor, but does affect “cooperative attitudes,” and “environmental behaviors,” and seems to have an important role.
