Abstract:
With a view to reducing environmental stress in regional towns and cities, the regeneration of local railways is becoming increasingly important. In particular, it is necessary to concentrate on community design surrounding local railway stations. In this paper, we analyze measures for the regeneration of local railways through the use of an awareness survey. The results are as follows: 1) Local residents are strongly aware of the need for measures that address community design and environmental conservation in regard to local railways and their surrounding areas. 2) It is necessary to adopt different measures for each respective station depending on the needs of the particular area. 3) Utilizing Quantification Theory, III we propose differing combinations of measures for areas around respectively targeted stations.
