Abstract:
This survey reveals the positive attitude of depopulated municipalities in Hokkaido to outdoor experience-type recreational programs, with 80.8% of the sample showing interest and 50.4% having already started such programs. The sample municipalities also strive to collect customer's information, which shows their desire to meet the needs of the customers, but they seem to have not fully utilized the information, since they feel the need to improve their programs. The reason for this is that they lack the marketing skills which would help them to plan more customer-oriented programs. In order to solve this problem, it is necessary to continue field work and to analyze the consumer behavior which leads to return visits and new visits.
